The boys basketball team played in their first regional game since 2013, and it was obvious from the beginning. The Tigers looked sluggish, and showed plenty of jitters to start the game. Norwayne gained confidence in the first half, and went on a run to end the second quarter taking a 32-24 halftime lead. But the Tigers came alive in the second half with much more defensive effort and intensity. The Tigers moved the ball much better in the second half, and found ways to score easy baskets. Including the 4 point run the Tigers had to close the 2nd quarter, the team outscored Norwayne by 19 points to win the game 57-50 to advance to the regional final on Saturday. The Tigers were led by Ramelle Arnold with 17 points, 5 assist, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Trezelle McQueen added 10 points and 14 rebounds against the size of Norwayne. Omahn Dobbins added 9 points and 6 assist. The Tigers will face off against Waterloo HS at 7pm on Saturday night.
